Designing a home is fun, especially when you’re starting from scratch. What’s fun but not that easy, however, is moving an interior design from one house to another. How tough it must be to make things for one floor plan work for another which could be totally different. If you’re moving to a smaller or bigger house, the more you’re going to need to plan things out very watchfully if you want your new home to look just as good as the one you left.

A good idea would be to take photos of where you used to live so it would be easier to make things fit in your new place. Part of the preparation will also have a lot to do with measuring the rooms. Pay special attention to floor areas, closets, windows, and others that will be important as you try to make your old furniture ease into its new environment. These snapshots should also work great in reminding you about colors you may want to stick to. Picture how the new place will look like and how your stuff would probably be arranged best.
